So for my last blog post of my junior year, I wanted to post something uber creepy! I love love love love love glass dolls! I was all inspired by people taking pictures of eyes and such, so I wanted to do a slight spin on things. I decided to take photos of the eyes of my glass dolls for a eerie effect!!!

Okay, I'm going to be the first to admit that this photo looks much better on my phone screen than on the blog. This is an aerial view of a candle. The candle had holes on the side which in my mind, looks sort of like a sun!Friday, April 27, 2012
This is one of the reasons I absolutely love Arizona. In the spring/summer time the day is absolutely beautiful. When I was taking out the recycle bin, I noticed the sky and realized how truly stunning it was. Plus, it is a rare occasion when we have clouds in the sky!
The next photo is of a candle in my dining room. I was mainly just playing around with long exposure settings while incorporating basic composition techniques such as the rule of thirds.

This past week I went to Dallas for a volleyball tournament. The first photo is of The Sixth Floor Museum. This was the building where Lee Harvey Oswald shot President Kennedy. The open window on the far right of the photo was where the gunman fired his shots. The next photo is o a car with the sun behind it. I like the backlighting. The third photo is of some bank skyscraper thing. I like how it seems to go on forever.

So I decided to wait and post after Relay for Life. Relay for Life is an amazing event that raises money for cancer research and awareness. One reason I love relay is that it is a completely family-oriented event. The top picture is of my best friend's sister, Karleigh. She loved the festivities of relay..
My absolute favorite part about Relay is the luminary ceremony in the evening. It is such a beautiful and touching moment. I accidentally took this photo, but I'm pretty glad I did! I like this photo because it almost looks like the past/present/future individuals diagnosed with this terrible disease are coming together as one unit.

Although I'm Slightly Late... For the week of April 2nd

I am going to have to say, these are not my best pieces. Bear with me :) After a slight disagreement with my teacher, I was told that had to take new photos for my blog, not upload the ones I had been working on this week. This week, I was working on my portrait shoot, which by the way, turned out excellent!
I was browsing around my house yesterday morning and I came across this article. In the holiday spirit, I decided to take a photo of the title. Holidays are fun, but you always have to remember that there are people who are less fortunate and who must be remembered. The second picture is a picture of a stray cat at my best friend's horse barn. I really like its eyes because of its color. The depth of field allows the viewer to focus on the cat and its piercing eyes.

So this is my first attempt at light painting. Obviously, it is a long exposure shot. I used the lights that go behind my fish bowl and painted with them. Midway through the word, I forgot that you are supposed to write the opposite way, so the "D" may or may not be backwards. :)
This is my grandparents dog Zoey! I was over at their house this afternoon and she was being absolutely precious. I took a picture of her with the camera on my phone and she happened to be licking her lips!

So for these two photos, I was mainly just practicing depth of field. I figured taking photos of flowers would be rather pretty and interesting! This was a flower in a vase at my house. We just got them and they are still fresh. I like how the water drops show in the photo.
One of my favorite parts about the Phoenix area are the wildflowers that grow. I took this photo in my back yard. The sun reflects off of the petals, enhancing its color.

This is my wonderful dog Molly. I wanted to try shooting her because of her coloring. She is black with dark colored eyes, and I thought that it would be a fun challenge. I figured that natural light would be the best for this photo. I used basic photoshop skills to make the colors pop and the contrast more striking. This is a tiger that I took a photo of at a recent trip to Sedona, AZ. I don't remember what lens I used but it had some pretty serious swag. I was about 200 feet away from the tiger and I used an effect with the lens to blur out the fence. I like the picture because the tiger looks vicious as it's licking its lips.
